By that logic....Why is pregnancy or STD prevention any different smoker cession supplied by some insurance? Smoking is not recreational? Really? Sex is not only for enjoyment. Why should safe sex measures be any different?
Logic fail is fail.

Ummm.... I can get an IUD for $145, including the doctor visit. And at planned parenthood its $845. LOL. I pay cash only for my medical needs. The pill is much much less than that.

Are you one of these people who asks for a cash discount b/c you don't have insurance? Our office won't do those any more. Our boss thinks that since people w/o insurance (for the most part, in our practice) have chosen not to have ins., they can pay full fee. We do give discounts to people who are actually needy.

Intrauterine Devices: IUD : American Pregnancy Association
There are three fees associated with the use of an intrauterine device: the health care providers visit, the intrauterine device, and a three month follow-up visit. The total cost should range from $175 to $400, depending on the cost of the physician's visit

I'd like to see a link for the Planned Parenthood rate, as they have a sliding scale.
