The results are in for today, Rush had only 5 paid sponsors and 74 public service announcements! With this kind of a disaster, it's only a matter on time until he's off the air

You like silencing everyone you don't agree with? Is that really the kind of country you want?
Sure, allow that, and you might not be far behind.

What "kind of country"? One where the people have some say and the rules of free market prevail? It's just good business that so few sponsors want anything to do with Rush. Right about now, people are paying attention to who's giving money to this man, and no sane businessman is going to risk damaging their company's reputation for his sake.
It's also good business that when you supply a product that's defective, your business suffers. Rush sells commentary. He put out quite the defective product and is now paying the price.
To answer your question, though it wasn't directed to me, yes! That's exactly the kind of country I want!

To use an argument often put forward by conservatives, no we don't want to silence anyone. If Rush wants to stay on the air, he can pay for it out of his own pocket himself. Why should someone else cough up the cash?

Radio in the U.S. is capitalism -- run by private companies whose objective is to maximize profits by selling advertisements, not provide free speech in a forum of competing ideas. This is contrary to government run stations, such as the UK's BBC.
Limbaugh claimed a mandate to voice outrageous statements because he said he had millions of listeners on 600 stations and that earned him $50 million a year and brought profits to the stations. As long as the advertisers were willing to pay, the stations didn't care what Limbaugh said. In other words, the capitalist free market was Limbaugh's friend.
Radio stations fire hosts all the time that fail to draw the owner's desired listeners and/or advertisers. If a radio station hosts Limbaugh and the listeners object, and voice that objection to advertisers, who then pull advertising, that is the free hand of capitalism at work -- exactly what Limbaugh worships.

Just a few french fries, friend. Advertisers are beating down Rush's door and he's telling them to take a hike. He's got 16,000 suitors to choose from -- he can afford to be picky. Haven't you heard? Oh you don't believe him? You can listen to the 74 PSA for yourself? Well then who needs you! Go listen to the MSM lib.

The fact is that Rush is radioactive right now. What we don't know is the half-life. His radioactivity may subside or he may be radioactive for 100,000 years, making advertisers shun him.
What we do know is that advertisers are not falling all over themselves trying to sponsor his show.

MTA, unlike the average Rush fan, I choose to believe my lying eyes over Rush's hot air. I'm no expert on radio advertising (unlike all of Rush's defenders), but even I can tell that 74 PSAs and 5 paid adverts isn't a good sign.
If that old loon Imus made it through the wacky PC racism minefield I don't think Rush will have much trouble. Now we got that nutbird Allred screaming about wanting to sue him. Just creates more listeners for the guy. Hell the best advertisement he's gotten in years has come out of this whole thing and it's free all over the msm.
