So...now we're up to 15 pages of posts, the bulk of those from "Rand-haters", yet still, not one has discussed any idea or point from any of her books. Is all you have the ability to trash the person or those that agree with her? Can not one of you actually refute anything she has said? Is the best yo have a couple of 15 second sound bites, reposted from others equally clueless? Or sophmoric quotes that avoid any of her actual ideas?

Kind of goes with Palin saying "Drill, Baby Drill" or anyone from the right discussing ending entitlements and welfare. If they start talking about intelligence they can't keep the poor people down and then the Liberal party will fail to exist.

You obviously don't understand collectivism.

That notion is probably generally accepted by leeches and losers.

Leeches and losers view all rich people as greedy. That's why they are losers.

You obviously have no idea what a Libertarian is. Libertarians are the opposite of communists and fascists and have nothing in common with them.

I posted a thread several months ago citing her writing about a serial killer.
Rand's essence was obvious when she related to and admired this demented killer.

Quote:
One reason most countries don’t find the time to embrace Ayn Rand’s thinking is that she is a textbook sociopath. In her notebooks Ayn Rand worshiped a notorious serial murderer-dismemberer, and used this killer as an early model for the type of “ideal man” she promoted in her more famous books. These ideas were later picked up on and put into play by major right-wing figures of the past half decade, including the key architects of America’s most recent economic catastrophe . . .
Ayn Rand’s worship of a serial killer : Dangerous Intersection

This is enough for anyone to read of Rand to know that she did not represent the qualities that any healthy and thriving society should be based upon.

Correct. Those that love the nanny state will always trash her books because the nanny state is exactly what she warned us about.

Strongly disagree. She claimed herself to be an atheist but she was philosophically worshiping materialism. Which is why her 'teachings' perfectly dovetail with the teachings of Satanism. She wasn't original. Satanism is as old as the hills.

I don't think anyone would disagree with that.

One person did not build the great ships that sailed the oceans alone. One person did not sail those ships alone. One person did not carve out the wilderness alone. One person did not build the villages and cities alone. One person did not defend them alone.

When the mines were dug it took more than one man to dig them, to work them, to draw out of the earth the ore that would be turned by many into steel that would be turned by many into trains and cars and tanks and planes.

When crops are grown, fish are caught, animals are slaughtered they are sold to other people so that, in turn, things may be purchased that others produce.

"Most of us" want an educated populace which means that we join together and pay for schools. "Most of us" want our persons and our homes to be safe which means we join together and hire police, fire fighters, and an army to protect us. "Most of us" want roads and bridges and so we join together and pay for them to be built or work together to build them. "Most of us" want medical care for ourselves and our family so we join together to build hospitals.

Since the time of Moses....and probably before...."most of us" have been unwilling to see people in our community starve to death and so each able person would contribute to caring for those unable to care for themselves. Every major religion has, as part of its philosophy, that we "do unto others as we would want done unto us." "Most of us" learn in kindergarten that things work out better for us and everyone else if we "play nicely together."

Heck, if you want to get right down to it, without others who felled the trees, others who turned those trees into paper, other who produced the ink, others who printed the words, others who bound the books, others who published and sold those books, you would not have ever been able to read the musings of Rand, would you?
Your rant is off topic. Nobody, including Rand, advocates that we work and live alone.

Quote:
Like it or not, admit it or not, we all need one another and have since the beginning of time. If we would all realize it, play nicely together, and treat one another in the way we want to be treated, and not try to keep all the toys for ourselves maybe "most of us" could live civilized, decent, fulfilling lives.
Nothing in your post conflicts with Rand's writings.

Obviously, you have not read her novel. The post you like is quite consistent with her novel.
