Eh, if I hear someone speak, I form an opinion about them. This topic is about Rush and Bill.

If someone brought up Lisa Lampanelli or Sarah Silverman, I'd have an opinion of them as well.

My husband is a HUGE fan of Maher. I've sat through more hours of his schtick than I'd care to admit. I don't like him. Anything I might agree with him about is lost in translation between his vulgarity and his smarmy nature.

Sure...they're both over the top and they both want ratings.

I just don't see what the big deal is. Limbaugh is just doing his thing. If folks don't like him, then don't listen to him. He's not doing anything that he hasn't always done.

Same for Maher. I just don't know why people get so deep into politics that they take it personal when these guys say something stupid.

Yeah, this is pretty much it. I have yet to see the TV or radio that doesn't have an off button.

People just love politics too damn much. And i'll say for the millionth time, i HATE people that get too deep into politics to the point that they want to talk about it, listen to it, or watch it all the time. Only uninteresting and pathetic ass people live like that.

Folks need to chill with the Schadenfreude. Don't listen to people that you don't like and you won't be p*ssed off. Turn it off. Geez.

But to get all up in arms over Limbaugh is pathetic.

Oh it's not just Limbaugh that I am "up in arms over". It's his legions of followers who trot to the voting booth every election that especially scare me.

Yea, well his followers can be annoying, but they're just exercising their right just like everyone else. He has a bunch of myrmidons, that's for sure.

Do what i do....i just cut off all political conversation with those types and tell 'em to change the subject. No one wants to hear that claptrap all the time.

Secondly, is there a law requiring that viagra be covered? I don't know, but I doubt it. Does Georgetown cover viagra? Again I don't know, but we would have to know that in order for your comparison to have any validity. Finally viagra isn't a contraceptive so that's a poor comparison. A better comparison would be if there were a male contraceptive that G-town's health plan covered, while female contraceptives were not. I doubt that you can find such an example.

FWIW, I would be just as much against a law mandating that health plans cover viagra. As an aside if guys would just take care of themselves, few would need viagra. I am a very old guy but a marathon runner, don't smoke, drink, nor use drugs, and never needed any viagra. If someone wants viagra, why not let them pay for it themselves?
After years of fighting for coverage, 28 states now require that insurance companies cover contraceptives - that doesn't mean they are "free," but rather they are offered with a copay. The other 22 states leave it up to the discretion of individual insurance companies.

I do not know for sure, but I suspect that Viagra IS covered in all 50 states, mainly because erectile dysfunction is considered a "medical condition." Viagra is the only reproductive drug designed exclusively for males, so it is the closest comparison to birth control pills, a reproductive drug designed exclusively for females.

My point is that a medication that is advantageous for a woman's lifestyle has been up for debate for over 50 years, while a medication that is advantageous for a man's lifestyle was never even offered for debate and, within weeks of its availability, it was a covered by insurance. There isn't a law mandating coverage of viagra because there doesn't need to be a law.

If you don't see the discrepancy in the way male and female issues are treated in this country, you are being deliberately obtuse.

FWIW, it is my opinion that when a man can no longer get it up, it is a clear message that he is no longer fit procreative material and he should just accept what fate/nature/God has decided for him. Little blue pills are against fate/nature/God's plan...

Oh they are absolutely exercising their right and I don't begrudge them that. I wouldn't dream of trying to take it away. But it burns my britches that such uneducated and ignorant people use their right in such an abhorrent manner.

Totally agree with your last sentence - that's why I took a 2 month hiatus from this place (not you! LOL).
