If you initiate a confrontation then I don't think you have the right to claim self defense.
Not necessarily, I don't know what leeway is given to a patrolling block watch captain. Maybe he has the right to ask what Travon was doing in the area, maybe Travon got belligerent and things escalated.
I think it was more the police having problems with criminal blacks. Some how I think you would be more prone to believe the black cop. I see it in this thread, blacks giving blacks the hi five evry time a comment is made they agree with. Nice brotherhood you have here.
You really don't know me hun. I have no issue with white people. In fact, genetically, I am as white as I am black and know exactly where my white ancestors came from. I have enough white relatives who took an active role in raising me to definitely not to have an issue with white people. That didn't stop a couple of people calling me a n*gger though. I do have issues with racism and racists, especially when it is institutional.
It is you who has the issue with race and you who makes assumptions based on race. It is you who has an issue with whether or not you trust or believe someone based on their skin color, not me. When you agree with other white people in a forum, what do you call that? Is that brotherhood? Personally I have no issues with you agreeing with white people. Obviously you have some irrational fear and stereotypes about blacks. By the way, LML isn't black.

I think others have answered the first question already (thanks LML and Evanstar). To answer your second question, if they were black and did the same thing, I would not believe them. If everything here was reversed and the person killed were white and the police department were mostly black and had a history if issues with whites, would you believe them?
The combatants were girls, of the same age, of the same size. In this case, Zimmerman was a decade older and 100 lbs. heavier. Trayvon was no threat - until Zimmerman escalated the confrontation.
So an athletic 150lb 6'3 17 year old has NO advantage over a fat 250lb 28 year old?
And I love how people exaggerate and stick to the "140 lbs" .... There is NO WAY he was 6'3 @ 140. I refuse to believe that..

The kid played varsity football... Here is a news flash..... There are 250 lb kids playing varsity football, pretty sure Trayvon ran away from a few of them... Pretty sure he took a few tackles from a few of them..

Right....which is why I don't see him as a threat. In fact, unless they're precocious XYY genetic freaks, I don't see any high school football players as threats.
No I don't have audio but apparently a fair number of sources do, and even if he didn't say the word 'coon', so what...almost every call is the same.
Link to one legitimate source that says he used that word. Every source I've seen says that you can't make out what he says. When truth is on your side, don't sully your argument by embellishing.
Not likely, not something that warrants a comment from the president.
