Thank you I have said this before. Once again the media is not telling the full story. I guess making SYG the bad guy here helps them to repeal the law or something. Standard self-defense law would still exonerate Zimmerman. A person can use lethal force if they are being pounded in the face especially in a defenseless position.

The argument that merely because Trayvon was only armed with "Skittles and an iced tea" that lethal force can not be used is ridiculous. If that was the case an overweight woman who is being pounded by her slimmer boyfriend/husband would not be able to defend herself even if armed. Since technically her attacker is only armed with fists.

The Jackson family - does that include Tito, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy?

Oh yeah, South Park...where Jimbo screams "IT'S COMING RIGHT FOR ME" before shooting everything that moves.

It's already happened where it was deemed "threatening" to be black and wearing a hoodie in the rain in the wrong neighborhood.

I'm all for self defense, but you don't get a blanket pass for just "feeling" threatened.
Yes, could be dangerous in a country full of armed paranoids
Still, I never liked Jesse Jackson and all those oh so moral reverends with their drug addictions, lovers and what not.

This is 2012. Fist fighting is the method of uncivilized trash. We have laws against assault.
EXACTLY! If Trayvon threw the first punch and Zimmerman felt that he was about to endure great bodily harm, then the shooting is self defense. Following a stranger in your own neighborhood is not against the law. Asking someone what they are doing in your neighborhood is not against the law. Punching someone or battering them is against the law and the law says you may defend yourself with deadly force. Dont want to get shot in Florida, then dont throw the first punch. If Zimmerman was the one who started the PHYSICAL altercation...then he would not have been able to use self defense.

Jackson, Sharpton... what's the diff? All I see are media hogs coming out of the woodwork to get their facetime. Obama- "my son would look exactly like Trayvon", now that was pandering at its finest.

Regardless of this case, why is it ok for anyone to ask anyone else what they are doing on public streets? I would answer that that's none of their business, frankly.

Bingo. It really is that simple. People keep going on "well the dispatcher said don't follow him." That means nothing legally.
