A gay Ohio teenager filed a federal lawsuit against his high school Tuesday after he was forbidden from wearing a T-shirt bearing the slogan "Jesus Is Not a Homophobe." "He hoped to wear the shirt to his school in Waynesville, 40 miles northeast of Cincinnati, on April 20 for this year's Day of Silence, an annual protest against bullying organized by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network."

I think the kid should probably be able to wear the T-Shirt; at the same time, I don't think the school should be holding a "Day of Silence."

(I kind of like the idea of school uniforms. Gets rid of all the political, gang & cheesy/sleezy apparrel & hassles that go along with them. Kids can then concentrate on academics, which way back when was actually the point of public education.)

Jesus would not be a homophobe. That's a certainty.

This is just as much a religious freedom issue as a gay civil rights issue.
