Hmm, I lean libertarian, and I'm not rich nor privileged. And by no means am I greedy. Forcing charity is not charity, it's called theft! BTW libertarians are way more liberal on social issues than what passes for most of today's republicans.

Most poor people are poor becasue they are unmotivated, economically naive, and usually both.

The cure is education; an understanding of the workings of supply and demand, and how to both defend one's own interests, and recognize the system's next move.

Politicians -- sespecially the left-leaning variety, won't teach you this; they want you to be poor, dumb, and waiting on the next sop they throw to you.

Most organized religion is cut from the same cloth. Don't question the authority of the Pope, the Quaran, or Reverend Billy-Bob.

"Hell is when you're dumb." (Malcolm X)

The corporate world distorts this -- that's why millions of fools think they have to wear a necktie to work. We all need another dose of good old fashined rebellion -- and a nuturing of the spirit of self-reliance that makes us able to handle the consequences.

Want to give to charities, please do, I do, but if you believe that private charities can do what is needed you are delusional. Don't want be part of te system then please do us all a favor, MOVE, I am sure you can find a Nation that has a government that does nothing for the poor and needy, you will right in with them.
Charity in any form of the sense is a direction toward individual freedom. This entitlement system based on just breathing that government provides for you is the really not a solution and will so be bankrupting the nation. This idea that we could have hungry children and homeless if we didnt have government assistant is kinda funny because with all the programs today government has we still have hungry and homeless. It would make more sense to me to start moving the roles of social and economic assistant out of the government and into communities and charities where those who REALLY care make the difference. Economically and socially government is not suppose be responsible for provide anything or a service. Government can do something for the poor and needy it can educate them on value of charity, the value of the dollar, the value of education and value of getting a job! I love the people who think government provides everything and when I question the BAD POLICY of welfare vs charity some how I am the one who has to move. How about the socialist move since it was only these type of programs created via socialist europe thinkers in the 1930's. How is the government going to come up with 70 trillion in entitlements for the next 10 years and pay for OBAMACARE. Hmmmmm? I know they will never answer that because the solution is to just tax the rich and soon the rich will be the middle class and then at that point it won't matter because it's about socialism and control of people. I wont be moving the people who died for this nation, built this nation and now over generations have let it become this nanny state have not upholded their duty to liberty. I dont run from the duty of informing people how the CHOICES before them. Choice liberty or continue down the path of bankrupty, dependancy and corruption and more government.

Just think what charity does from donations and free will.
So heartless :-)

After you read this and know the truth of what Ron Paul stands for.... a socialist, government nanny state lover is busy finding new ways to promote more government solutions and bankrupting the nation.
That's not charity...that's a tax deduction!!!

Look at the Ron Paul Model for SS...

The Galveston TX city employees, are opted out of SS and have a retirement 4-10 times that of what SS pays.

Libertarians/conservatives are all for relying on handouts from local charities, communities, etc in time of need but scream "WOAH!" at paying taxes for the same services from the government - where is the personal responsibility? Why rely on "volunteerism" handouts? Its just one of their fake con games.

I agree. How can people learn to support themselves and be responsible citizens, when we teach it is ok not to be responsible.

And right you are, we need no more redistribution, and we need less people getting hand outs that shouldn't be getting them, and there are many many who are abusing the system.

Those people who take the easy way out of life, with no foucs or direction, are heartless unto themselves.

Cool story brah! I'm a Libertarian, and I'm most certainly not rich nor am I privileged. But I would rather work hard, and make my own way than be dependent on the government, and have them care for my every need. Not to mention we're against all of the nanny state laws that have been enacted for the sake of "protecting ourselves from ourselves." You're also forgetting that Libertarians are also against corporate welfare, and the government picking winners and losers when they bailed out the big banks instead of allowing them to fail due to their p*** poor business practices.

At least try and do a little research on the Libertarian platform instead spouting stupid generalizations.
