As far as my opinion of the black panthers, well, to each their own. Radical groups, whether they are white supremacists or black supremacists, will never garner any admiration from me. Get over yourselves, no one is better then anyone else, and no one is trying to keep you down, except yourself.
Whether you think you can or can't, you are probably right.

Well, the first two poll answers, particularly the second, are simply idiotic. The KKK is obviously the largest terrorist group in US history, aside for the Confederacy, and neither the BPP nor the NBPP rise to that level.
I can't imagine being proud of the NBPP. Unlike the original group, they've done nothing to help much of anyone, and they mostly just rant on street corners.
I like a lot of what the original BPP did, such as protection from police brutality, free breakfasts for schoolchildren, and the like, but their organization ability left much to be desired. I'm not proud of them per se, but that's close enough.

Just going by the usual language here on City-Data... and Fox News.

This is the ONLY passage of regarding the Black Panthers in any kind of positive (and fair) light.
For style? I give it to the "Black Panthers"! They certainly dress better than the KKK! Has anybody mentioned to the KKK that there uniforms look like "burkas"?
Original BPP was fine for the most part... they just wanted to protect black Americans. Not necessarily a fan of their view on separation vs integration but oh well.
NBPP is just silly, a bunch of kooks advocating violence and extermination that makes them no better than other hate groups.
