If MLK were alive today I'm sure he would be a Democrat.
Martin Luther King would cry if he saw what blacks have done to themselves.

He was all about self-determination not government subjugation.

I don't disagree there.

MLK didn't do what he did for something like Detroit to happen.

Yep. When DRMLKJR was alive black Detroit, Chicago and Philly were thriving.

Now the hardworking, honest black folks in these communities are under seige.

And, sadly, the most deadly areas are always around Martin Luther King Blvd. or MLK street!

If Ron Paul were president things would get better:

Thriving under what? Pure racism in the 1960s?

That was about 150 years ago. Those Republicans would be called "Liberals" by the current Republican Party.

Instead, I give the people of my race too much credit. And the sad part is they only blindly reference the bible when someone asks them why they're against gay marriage.
That is direct result of many Black Americans being influenced by Christianity which preaches bigotry against homosexuals as a standard practice.

The reality is that issue of same sex marriage is simply not a big enough issue for most Black Americans to stop supporting President Obama. Especially since the Republican Party is the party of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Dr. Laura Schlesinger.

Kick, holler, scream, cry and take your ball and go play somewhere else, but the fact remains--you simply don't have that right. Period. Have a problem with that? Oh well, call it "unconsitutional" and take it to court and see if you can win.
Well it would seem that's EXACTLY what happened with Proposition 8 in California. It was taken to court and overturned. That ruling was upheld but the U.S. Court of Appeals and now it's going to the Supreme Court.

The argument used to overturn Proposition 8 was legally elegant, compelling and based on constitutional law.

Be careful what you ask for. If the Supreme Court upholds the lower court ruling there is a very good chance that ALL of the current state level bands on same sex marriage will be ruled unconstitutional.

Black Americans like most other Americans tend not to be single issue voters.

You don't generally get people to agree with your point of view by insulting them.

Then you wonder why more Black Americans aren't supporters of the Republican Party.

Dr. Martin Luther King would not be a Republican.

Dr. Martin Luther King would be mistreated by White people just like he was back then.

You guys have your nerve coming on CD insulting blacks and mentioning Martin Luther King in the same sentence.
