The post we have been responding to was citing the pre-2008 era - when the Dems presumably "had control" of Congress.
Dems are never in jack-booted lockstep like the Repubs. The Democratic "big tent" is diverse, and there are always those conservative Dems who vote with REpubs. The "progressive" caucus has a smaller voice in the affairs of the party.
What's more pathetic is the middle-class shlubbs here defending the privileged position of the rich and the tax-policies that benefit them.
I can understand the rich and their lawyers making these arguments but it makes no sense for anyone else to argue on behalf of the privileged.
I wish I could rep you 2x for this... so many people fail to realize they're just pawns.

Simple... the current iteration of 'Obamacare' is only a whisper of it's original incarnation. After having the GOP twist it and paperclip enough of their own garbage onto it, it finally passed.

To think what particular Senators and Congressman vote for represent what Americans want, as opposed to what corporate lobbyists want, it is a stretch that anyone can see.
One has to be fairly naive to think that what I want and what Exxon wants have equal weight to a Senator.
I'm wondering why anybody is truly believing that govt is responding to the needs and desires of Americans rather than lobbyists and campaign contributors.
OK, seems that the forum's right-wing is happy with it. Investor-class trolls?
Regardless of class, people should vote with their conscience and for their family and its future. Not because of class envy, and not to spread misery.
Those improving their lot in life, either emotionally, financially, intellectually, physically, spiritually are not limited to one or the other party, and are not lmited to a financial class.
It's a shame the role that fanatical fundamentalists play in exacerbating the human condition -- in sports, religion, and politics. It's the rabid extremist supporters of both parties that degrade the political process, far worse than politicians, particularly with their demonization of politicians, their hyperbole, and their victimization complexes.

This is why I call them the dumbocrats! The refuticans stick together regardless of how they feel or what their people want. Most of it has alot to do with money (read norquist agreement) which is why I never could understand why working class poor and middle class are so eager for mitt to win

"Dems are never in jack-booted lockstep like the Repubs". Now is a hoot!
How many dems in the senate and the House voted NO on Obamacare?

The middle class gets its "news" from the mainstream big-corporate media which has a stake in the outcome of elections (read "favors republican deregulation").
I wonder how many Americans even know about the "Norquist republican pledge" thanks to this sorry and biased reporting.
