For JCP's sake I hope they will hire a good Christian CEO who is going to clean house and purge DeGeneres, gay ads and all the other venomous influence Francis infected them with. That will bring the families back to JCP and their reputation will be restored.
Will this "good Christian" organize public burnings of gays as part of the scourge?

I am saying they need to shrug the gay image and attract the core customer (families) back into the stores. The need to go straight to the root of the problem, and fix it.
This has nothing to do with "gay ads" or anything. JCP (as I've called it forever) has been struggling for years. They are trying new things to keep going and it may not work or be enough, including the gay ads people are so worked up over. There are still a couple things I can get there that I can't get anywhere else for the price or quality but overall the quality and selection isn't what it used to be. It's a familiar story.
I tend to agree with you. Although the stocks dropped like a rock after the Ellen deal, their decline looks more like an economical thing than a gay thing.

The root of the problem is the new pricing, and no longer having sales, or offering discounts.
No self-respecting gay person I know would be caught dead in a Penney's. Have you seen their mens' lines? Seriously?
I used to shop at Penney's for womens' wear, especially business wear; I had to have items that traveled well and didn't need a lot of dry-cleaning, fluffing, or fussing. They had colors and classic styles I liked. Several Christmases ago, I bought some lovely sweaters from there for my daughter online - and even with the sales receipt, her local customer service not only refused to exchange them for different sizes, they insisted that those were not JCP brands! The last several times I tried to shop there, I didn't see one single thing there that I would pay money for - either the material was cheap, the colors were tacky, or the designs were poorly conceived and poorly executed. They went from a middle-of-the-road, dependable women's fashion outlet to cheap, tawdry, and just a cut above Hot Topic or Wal-Mart - unfortunately without the prices to match.
I won't be back, and neither will most women I know.
