(1) A person is guilty of indecent exposure if he or she intentionally makes any open and obscene exposure of his or her person or the person of another knowing that such conduct is likely to cause reasonable affront or alarm. The act of breastfeeding or expressing breast milk is not indecent exposure.
Don't think that swimming could fall under the umbrella of obscene.
Then they better make every man, every boy, every child wear a shirt when they swim. Her cancer wasn't enogh some want to put more on her? Let this woman swim in comfort.
I swear we are a society of nazi's minding everyone elses business.
I really have no respect for people who lie, just to get their way. And I have no respect for people who use a disease to play on pity to get their way.
She's a manipulator and a liar. And now she gets to be topless in public. What a hero.
Women with no breasts must cover up, obese males with breasts must not cover up. The only difference for having different laws contingent on gender: Sexism.
Glad to see the parks department realized just how stupid their viewpoint was.

I have diminished respect for people who make statements that they are so sure of based on ignorance.
How do you know that these are her reasons for her actions?

How does one lie about having neither breasts nor nipples exactly? Or perhaps you are referencing her remark about severe nerve pain that would be caused by straps? You should educate yourself about the common effects of a mastectomy before speaking of things of which you clearly have zero knowledge.

Yes, it's every woman's dream to go topless in public, even if it necessitates having one's breasts cut off to do so.
She has severe nerve pain in her chest area. Wearing clothes hurts--especially if you are swimming and moving around a lot in the clothes. The fabric of t-shirts becomes much heavier in water than it is in the air, so wearing a shirt in the pool is not the same as wearing a shirt in general.

Seriously? How did you even remotely come to this conclusion?
Wet clothes make nerve pain SO much worse. Wow. "Wear a tshirt?" The thought of that kind of pain makes me nauseous.
Chemo gave me serious nerve pain while I was on it - but I still have intermittent nerve pain and permanent numbness down one hip and outer thigh. When it's REALLY bad, I can't go to work because I can't even wear the loosest of skirts. I have to hope it doesn't flare up in the winter because trying to cover myself with a sheet brings me to tears. It's awful.
I am the type of person who tends to go swimming in board shorts. Even now when I'm not having a flare-up, I have to wear highcut bottoms so the wet clothes don't weigh and rub on the area. I tried swimming in shorts once - horrific pain.
This woman has no breasts to cover. G-d forbid a parent have to explain disability to their child.
