"Egypt has set up anti-aircraft missiles in the Sinai Desert, without notifying Israel and in violation of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty, according to Israeli reports, even as Egypt’s new leader has seized control of Egypt’s vast bureaucracy. Israeli officials are not speaking publicly about the missile transfer that is only the latest and perhaps the most serious of actions by Egypt’s new Islamic regime that may signal the imminent failure of the Egyptian-Israeli treaty"
I don't find this at all surprising, and I doubt that the Israelis do either.
The treaty between Israel and Egypt was never popular with the Egyptian people. It was inevitable that it would come under strain and be discarded by a new government, or - at best - renegotiated. (I never saw the latter as likely myself.) As to how Islamic the new government will prove, and where it will place its bets is very unclear at the present time.
However, I doubt that any of their moves will be presented in the press of Western nations as anything other than nefarious Islamic maneuvers. Anti-Israel posturing plays as well in Egypt as pro-Israel posturing does in U.S. politics.
Israel is the kind of neighbor that inspires nightmares. Trigger happy and dangerous. Worse still they have a victim complex. having Israel as a neighbor your thought process isn't if they will attack, its when they will attack. The fact that they have no issue with collatoral damage is another concern. So yeah I would have SAM's on our border as well as troops.
That is odd since it is the arab states who attacked Israel post WWII and they were also attacked in the arab-israeli war in 1973. So in your mind a bad neighbor is one who you attack and they fight back. I guess that is the mindset your posting from anyway.

Doesn't matter who provided the info what matters is they, egypt, are pressing and apparently looking to have a go like they did in '73. We shall see. I'm sure it will all be the evil jooooooos fault again for fighting back though in the end.

Why they would attack Israel again is beside me. The end result would be Israel taking back the Sinai and more. This time they would most likely not give it back.
Imagine setting up anti-aircraft missiles on one's own territory for defense...what a radical idea.
