I think an obese persons weight is often indicative of other poor qualities in people. I wouldn't rule someone out based on their weight, But at face value I already have a negative opinion of them.

Well we don't require presidents to have much experience now;so I don't see weight has stopping anyone.

He was a big man - he deserves more than one mention on a thread about heavy politicians.

I vote based on the person's accomplishments, abilities and character...not his BMI. Look what a disaster the last 4 years turned out to be, after some voted for the empty headed celebrity cause he looks good on TV. Some people are just shallow.

We're in a sad state if society won't vote for someone based on weight and not politics.

However, I realize the reality is that many are to concerned with what a president/person looks like rather than what his policies are. It falls under that "likeability" category.

I'm just laughing at the ones that like to make fat jokes yet are overweight themselves, and who have no idea about Christie's politics. I hope Christie keeps on going, establishes a name for himself, and continues to move up the ladder. I think he is the kind of person we need in politics.

I belong to the one sole demographic group that has not succumbed to the obesity epidemic. That plus I live in a very urban walk able area so I don't encounter obese people much. Even if I did it wouldn't make my life difficult. It is there life that they make more difficult on themselves.
