The Federal Government gave the RNC $50 million for security in Tampa, and they spent hell out of it judging from the lines of jackbooted stormtroopers everywhere you look. There are four times as many policemen as there are protestors in Tampa. The delegates must be scared to death.
I'm curious, though. The theme of the convention is "We Built It". I would think that a party that has been crowing about self-sufficiency would want to demonstrate that they were serious about smaller government by saying to the Feds, "No, thanks. We built it. We are rough, tough republicans, and we can handle our own security".
Hypocrisy strikes again. The only reason they want smaller government is the same reason that criminals want a smaller police force - so they can get away with murder. Elect Romney and prepare to be robbed blind if you are not in the One Per Cent.
The roads were already there..............I've always thought it was strange how businesses tend to locate along roads that were already there instead of opening their businesses along roads that havent' been built yet.
Last time I checked, I paid taxes that built those roads...
You can't blame the lefties for wanting to stunt the Romney campaign in every way they can. They need every edge they can find.
If there's a resource available to both campaigns, but only one of them uses it, then that campaign has an instant advantage. THAT is why the lefties are making a big deal of this. They can't stand the idea of a level playing field, and they're running scared because their fearless leader isn't likely to be re-elected.
The message doesn't hold any water, Romney made a similar speech to Obama's, many businesses are dependent on government, even Sher Valenzuela one of the speakers at the convention.
"Sher Valenzuela, who will speak at the RNC Tuesday night, came under fire last week as reports surfaced that her company, First State Manufacturing, received roughly $17 million in loans and contracts from the government. The RNC's "We Built It" campaign, an attack on President Obama's remarks in July that acknowledged small business owners' reliance on federal support, is using as its prop someone who did just that, The Huffington Post reported Friday."
It's obvious that you would rather rant and expect people to believe you than back up you rant.
People who are confident do this (back up what they say, and not have to be asked for anything, but was we can see...you are not)....you just expected people to believe you....
Again, not my job to back up you rant...
My apologies. I had assumed that you got your news from an outlet other than FOX and were better informed. I can see now that I need to type slower so that everyone can keep up.
I would say that you fail to see that once Romney and Ryan are formally nominated they both qualify for Secret Service protection just like the other candidate. It might be nice to have that many police men to protect the Secret Service agents from those demonstrators. The fact that Obama could only hire 250 demonstrators has little to do with trying to keep that place calm.
Where were you in 1968? I was still a Democrat and well remember those demonstrators in Chicago breaking into the Convention and storming out onto the floor. We don't need that kind of crap these days but some from the Occupy group did speak about making 2012 another 1968.
You really are so lefty that you just can't understand what is going on.
Roy, how about go back and read my OP and try again.
"We Built This" somehow doesn't ring true in an arena built with public funds and $50 million in government funds being spent for security.
If the republicans want to huff and puff and talk the talk, they need to learn how to walk the walk. That means ponying up to handle their own bills and not expecting the government to cover them. That's welfare.

I certainly do. I also have a sneaking hunch that the republicans are going to find out in a couple of months. They may try to outlaw them.
