Thank you for explaining why our current regime of unemployment compensation does not solve poverty and enable an end to our over thirty year War on Poverty.

From a philosophical perspective, a true social safety net should only end when it is no longer needed. Unemployment compensation should also, merely compensate persons for being unemployed in our mixed-market political economy simply for the sake of the rule of law, and not the rule of men.

In my opinion, there should be no homelessness at all, in any Right to Work State. Either the People have a Right to Work, or they don't. If they don't, they should have recourse to unemployment compensation, merely for being unemployed. Why not be moral enough to bear true witness to our own laws, simply for the sake of morals and that form of moral absolutism, if not merely for the sake of a McCarthy era phrase in our pledge.
