i think people object to what they are saying, not what they are wearing. (although some might object to that, as well, i guess).

parents and students are highly inconvenienced, and the teachers are having a blast.

no wonder the students perform so poorly in their tests, as it seems that these teachers don't understand the IMPORTANCE of educating children.

it's all show me the money.

again, there are a lot of good teachers out there who i bet would make fine replacement teachers for this bunch.

maybe rahm could be accepting their resumes right now.

I like the ones of Che wearing a Che shirt. I don't find it as offensive as a Confederate Flag since Che never killed American Soldiers

Get their lazy asses back to WORK, or get fired. They don't deserve any more money, as they are already making too much for their **** poor quality work.

Maybe some of you should step into a classroom in Englewood (a Chicago neighborhood) before you speak.
That would just prove how horribly wrong Liberal policies can go...... terrible schools, massive welfare abuse, unrelenting drugs and gangs, broken families etc.

Yeah, you really want to use that as an example.....

there is some irony in che being anti-capitalist and the teachers wearing his shirt and wanting more money.

they might not be the sharpest tools in the shed.

Dear lord. Socialists want more money for workers. You obviously didn't know this.

The prime reason the teachers are striking is not the money; it's the fact that teacher evaluation is to be tied to student performance. The teachers know better than anyone else, despite what they would say, that Chicago Public Schools are full of students who lack interest in academics. It's easy and convenient to blame the students' poor performance on the teachers' abilities, but the truth is that student performance has much more to do with the quality of the students themselves.

No, they won't go back to work unless they are promised not to be judged by their student's failing scores. They don't want their evaluations dependent on student performance. That's not fair.
