From the beginning, when these memes first entered my brain, I have always believed that "libertarianism" was just a more mild form of anti-authoritarianism than outright anarchism. This point of view has influenced my thinking a lot.

Since then, not only have I been called a republican, but also a democrat, liberal, conservative, "greenie", "paulbot", maoist, communist, socialist, nazi (wow, I'm on a roll), libertarian, anarchist, monarchist (some people have some whacky selective hearing), robot, zombie, psychopath, "nice guy", ***hole, nerd, mutant, aspie, mutant, etc.

The positions taken here by nighttrain55 don't surprise me that much. Since I have grown and changed, the positions taken by the libertarians here now seem very strange to me. I know freedom is subjective, but isn't part of freedom really growth and change? To be flexible and not rigid? I would think that a political party inhibits that goal.
