Alright...let's talk about the ROE. What do you know about the subject and with what do you disagree?

So they damaged 6 aircraft during a ground attack on the base... It's war, it happens.

Note --- this is 4 years AFTER Bush -- and didn't Obama promise to bring our troops home?
Yeah, so? They're replacing units who are at the end of their tours of duty. It happens continuously and it's a good thing to me. Maybe YOU would prefer the originally deployed troops stay there until the war is over, but I sure don't.

And, by the way, what media outlets do you consider as "liberal" so I can check and see if they mentioned this?

Germany was the enemy. Post-invasion Afghanistan is not.

You DO understand the difference, don't you?

How many more people have to die for this useless so-called war? Afghanistan will never, ever become a democratic society. You can't take people with an 18th century tribal mentality and blow them into the 21st century.

Once again the pride of the US takes precedent over the unnecessary lose of lives. No different than Vietnam.

I am so sick and tired of Americans and other NATO troops dying in countries that is incapable of change, at least in this century.

United States Forces casualties in the war in Afghanistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
As of Sept. 10 - 1,987 fatalities
17,519 American service members have been wounded in action during the war.
In addition there are 1,173 U.S. civilian contractor fatalities.
At the end of May 2010, the number of American fatalities was reported to have reached 1,000.By June 2011, the total number went up to 1,610. More than two-third of those deaths have occurred since the American military presence in Afghanistan was doubled under president Barack Obama in 2009.
Add to the above:

McCain Wants Faster Withdrawal as Option in Afghanistan
Quote:
A recent surge of such attacks has brought to 51 the number of Americans killed this year by the Afghan troops they have been training and fighting alongside. Last month coalition forces halted the training of new recruits for the Afghan military and police while the vetting process for weeding out Taliban or other insurgents is under review. Last week, the U.S.-led coalition temporarily suspended joint operations with Afghan units because of the insider attacks.

"Any rational viewer that has any knowledge of the military knows that the whole program has to be re-evaluated, because the process that they said would lead to that withdrawal has been an abject and total failure," McCain said. Still, he was not calling for an accelerated withdrawal, but only saying it should be considered as an option. Other members of Congress are past considering the options in the 11-year-old war and have decided that American fighting units have been in Afghanistan either long enough or too long. Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.), chairman of the House Appropriations Defense subcommittee, is among them.
Even gung-ho McCain recognizes it is a failure.

Apparently the target on Camp Bastion, which hosts US Camp Leatherneck, was Prince Hairy AKA Captain Wales. The UK announced to the world that he was being sent to Afghanistan (punishment for his naughty behavior?) and where he would be based. Nothing like putting a target on his back. He escaped, but others lost their lives.

As did George Bush before him.

"Daddy Warbucks" is not just a fictional character from "Little Orphan Annie" and he's been a factor in every war we ever fought, including the Revolution. He's been a factor in every war ANYBODY ever fought.

Know why? I do.

It was a failure from the day the first SpecOps troops went in. Why has it taken McCain so long to see what others of us saw almost from day one?

It couldn't be that there's now a Democrat in the White House, could it?

Was there any point then in getting Bush out of office? Maybe we should have just left him there -- funny how all what he did was so bad but now that Obama is doing the same and more it's wonderful. Your liberal media simply reports everything in a different slant now -- so it just seems really nice to the liberals that our guys are getting slaughtered in Afghanistan and no one knows why they're being sent there.
