Reagan-like economic policies from Republican presidents Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover are what caused the Depression and what made America turn to FDR and the Democrats. Hoover specifically rejected measures that would have gotten the government more involved in fighting the Depression and was defeated in a landslide.
A little history lesson son.
_____GDP Growth
__1934 __1935 ___1936
_+10.9___+8.9___+13.1
F.D.R.s 86.3 % GDP growth is the fastest 8 year GDP growth in American history.
Almost three times faster than Brain-dead Reagan.
That is a historical FACT.
F.D.R.s 47.5% job growth is the fastest 8 year job growth in American history.
Almost three times faster than Brain-dead Reagan's percent of job growth.
That is a historical FACT.
For Republicans, Lying is a way of life.

You can't hide the truth. You can sum up the failure of FDR with the following statement from his own Treasure Secretary Morgenthau:
"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong … somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. … I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. … And an enormous debt to boot."
FDR did a good job with the banks but failed at restoring the economy.

I don't think so. Coolidge did a good job getting the country out of the Depression in the early 1920's and led the way to the "roaring 20s". Hoover was a big government guy and did what the FDR continued to do. This is a good article about Hoover.
History has always painted Hoover as a guy that sat back and did nothing, but the truth is he did a great deal, just the wrong things. FDR continued to do the wrong things and made the economic situation worse.
FDR was a big Liberal/Progressive/Democrat who was interested in "changing America" rather than sticking with what worked and made us an economic success. He was surrounded by hard core Socialist/Communists that led the way to economic disaster.
The sad part is the legacy of FDR is he is portrayed as some great economic genius that got us out of the Depression but the truth is exactly the opposite.
Well, Reagan legally passed catsup as a vegetable for our school kids when he was pres. If he'd been pres during the Great Depression, millions more would have died from malnutrition. Catsup factories would have thrived though.
Ronald Reagan was 10 feet tall and would slain Hitler and the Japanese with fireballs from his ass. Until he came around in 1980 America really sucked and had been on a long and permanent decline - at least, we all thought it was permanent until he came and single handedly raised the standard of living for everyone, enriched us all, and made it heaven on Earth until his hand chosen VP won in '92. It's been all downhill from there (except 2001-2008).
Such hysterical rants are the common result of liberals encountering facts they hate but cannot refute.
If he'd been pres during the Great Depression, millions more would have died from malnutrition.
And the desperate, hysterical rants just keep on comin'.
If Reagan Had Been President During The Depression?
He would have been the youngest person to be elected President.
