Sorry muslims, protest all you want but the first amendment isn't going anywhere. If you hate the freedoms we enjoy here, why did you come here? Don't you fools realize it's those freedoms which made this place desirable to you in the first place? But go ahead and protest over your hurt feelings. The % of Muslims is not the be all, end all of how influential a group can be. IMO, as our foreign policy shifts slowly toward accommodating and not angering the Islamic world, we will try domestically to prevent things like Quran burning, anti- [slandering] Muhammad speech, ads like the NYC subway ads.
Add people of good and not so good intentions who'd support limiting speech that insults, offends, degrades any group by referring to it as 'hate speech.' Speech codes in schools, for example.

Obama doesn't have that much power. Have you seen ANYTHING in terms of changing laws to restrict Terry Jones?

Ever heard of incrementallism? How many Supreme Court judges would have to be replaced by judges sympathetic to such changes? It probably cannot happen in one big change, but they have plenty of time.
I well remember when the Howard government told them to submit to Australian law or go home. I also remember that the left has been in control for some years and have been letting Muslims get by with murder.
City-Data can censor you all you want, and should have reasonable limits on what is acceptable speech if it wants to continue to function as a viable business where all people of all demographics feel comfortable and want to post. It isn't a charity or hate site. Plenty of sites like that out there (who themselves will remove or censor posts that do not go against the hate line).
Christians are not innocent martyrs in this issue. It's actually a bit of come-uppance for centuries of unfettered ability to malign everything under the sun with the apparent authority of god.
"Blasphemy laws" are irreconcilable with the first amendment. It wouldn't make it past the courts.
Is what you want to accept as protection for us so strong that we have to stand back and see if it works. The British did that and look what it got them. The Swedes allowed all that diversity and now find that they will have a majority population of Muslims by 2050. What are the chances that sharia will take over there when that happens?

Did you ever notice that when Muslims riot they seem to be throwing anything they can get their hands on? I heard lots of objects landing in that one and one guy said he caught a piece of concrete in the back of his head. I guess those videos taken by Christians aren't supposed to circulate since Muslims like to use them to prove police brutality when the cops fight back.
This kind of thing has been going on in Dearborn for years. Dodge City, Kansas is getting more and more Somalis and they really want to force the inhabitants to extend things to them that they don't want to give. If that happens with just a few what will happen when there gets to be more of them?
