"My way or it's someone elses fault (and when it fails it's still someone elses fault)" that's Obamas motto.
The GOP rejected any compromise and that is a flat out fact. Maybe you would know this if you actually switched off right wing media once in awhile.

Obstinate Congressional GOP and Supreme Court Conservatives Reject Compromise

It’s an astonishing report for a number of reasons, and we’ll catalog them all. But the most astonishing thing, and the point I haven’t seen made, is that it highlights once again that this bullheaded conservatism obstinacy and totalism, this all-or-nothing posture that the wingnut base so adores and demands, has actually cost conservatism victories. And, I report with pleasure, it will do so again, likely starting this November.

OMG...the proof is in the fact that they even vote against the things they supported (pre-Obama) before they were against them. It's so obvious who the culprits are...

Since Obama became president, Republicans have explicitly rejected the concept of compromise with Democrats.

In 2010, after President Obama said he would compromise with the new Republican House of Representatives to get things done for the country, John Boehner responded by saying he would never compromise with the president.

Duing the debt ceiling debate, when Democrats offered to compromise with Republicans on budget cuts, Eric Cantor totally rejected any compromise and said the Republican Party’s compromise is “the fact that that we are even discussing voting for a debt ceiling increase.”

When they’re not actively creating a crisis in order to extort the President into meeting their demands, the Republicans are working to make sure nothing gets done at all. During the 2009 – 2010 congressional session, Senate Republicans set records for using the filibuster to prevent any legislation from getting voted on, including bills that Republicans themselves had co-sponsored.

Barack Obama has been making war cool for the left since 2009.

nice try at spin, but the reality is that the republicans WANTED to work with the democrats when obama was elected, the problem though is that the democrats LOCKED the republicans OUT and refused to compromise with the republicans on ANYTHING. as a result the republicans decided that two parties can play that game and have since refused to work with democrats.

the problem is that BOTH parties got butthurt in the last few years, and neither wants to extend an olive branch to the other. perhaps if romney gets into office, things will change on that front.

My understanding is slightly different. Democrats started ignoring and ridiculing Bush during his second therm. Towards 2007 and 2008 it became hard to watch (not because of citizen W, but because damaging US presidency hurts the entire US!). Bush (a failed president) was still the lawful elected POTUS. Since 2009, republicans are returning the favor, by totally blocking anything that comes from the white house.
What these stupid folks don't understand is the long term consequences of their actions. They are willing to sacrifice everything for momentary satisfaction and partisan win. The result is that no matter who wins the coming elections, will have a hell of a time governing and America will always be on the losing side.
