"WASHINGTON -- Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released new jobs figures - 18,000 jobs created in December. Since August 2003, more than 8.3 million jobs have been created, with more than 1.3 million jobs created throughout 2007. Our economy has now added jobs for 52 straight months - the longest period of uninterrupted job growth on record. The unemployment rate remains low at 5 percent."
Kinda blows holes in some of the previous posts claiming NO jobs were created.
If I were a wealthy businessman and told my taxes were going to be raised to help redistribute the wealth, I'd close my business and retire! How is that going to help the country?
Or they will make the majority of their profits off shore to evade taxes like they're already doing...
They are not bring money back because they will have to pay tax the 2nd time. 1st to the country where the money was earned, then to the US government.
This whole notion of "job creators" crap needs to be put to rest. The rich are NOT "job creators". The American people who buy products and services are "job creators". Jobs are not "created" because some rich guy one day says "today I am going to create jobs". No, it is some rich guy that says "customers (us) are buying more products from my business and I need to hire some help to meet my customer's demands for my goods and services". See how that works?
