If you were an adult, if you weren't consumed by partisanship, if you actually cared about improving this nation,
you might want to ask yourself what was the US Ambassador doing in Libyai and why would he need a security detail?

Ok, let's say they were his official security detail. Is that a sick joke?

"Hey guys in Libya, we know there have been a bunch of attacks over the past several months, and we know you fear for your lives and we know youve asked for MORE security. So instead, how about this? We'll actually TAKE AWAY security, AND let you go in there on the anniversary of 9/11.... Sound good? Good."

So they get killed and then this Admin acts shocked, tries to blame it on a movie, isnt truthful with the public, etc etc

Ive made that point before. Ive yet to see that asked by any reporter though. Ive heard Glenn raise that question the day or two afterwards. He seems to think, from his info, that they were looking for weapons that we gave Libya that were falling in to the wrong hands or something. He believes those two men with Stevens were CIA.

So yeah, that is a great question. Will it be asked to the powers that be? Who knows.

No one should have been in Libya given the recent attacks. Especially if they asked for more security and actually had security taken away from them in return.

5 to 6 security "agents" is not a marine. The marines are at the Embassy, not the house.

The two former Navy Seals killed with him were not on his security team. That was one of the big lies of the Obama administration. They had to come out and "clarify" later (aka, admit they lied).

The two former Navy SEALs killed in last week's attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi were not part of Ambassador Chris Stevens' official security detail . . .
“Woods and Doherty weren’t part of the detail, nor were they personally responsible for the ambassador’s security, but they stepped into the breach when the attacks occurred and their actions saved others lives -- and they shouldn’t be lumped in with the security detail,” one senior official said, speaking only on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly about the State Department.
The administration has not fully described the two former Navy SEALs' activities, characterizing their work only vaguely as being security related.

In fact, officials said, the two men were personal service contractors whose official function was described as "embassy security," but whose work did not involve personal protection of the ambassador or perimeter security of the compound.

So, where was the ambassador's security? Did he have any security? Not one security detail person was killed with him. The other person killed was an information person. The administration claims he was "seperated" from his security, but not one of them was killed? Or were they all Libyans who voluntary left? Or was there no one? We have no idea. But the fact that the administration immediately started lying about the two Seals who died shows they knew they had a problem.
Luckily the media lapped it up and very few have been asking questions about the actual security provided for the ambassador or about their lies.

I expect we will get more modifications to the Administration/State Dept story before Wednesdays hearings. Lies and corruption.

I am curious why the administration would assign a homosexual to be our ambassador to a Muslim Country. Sharia law has some pretty harsh punishment for homosexuality...

We also have a Jewish ambassador in Yemen, a Female ambassador in Egypt.

This is what happens when you join forces with the enemy. The "rebels" were a rag tag bunch of AQ fighters who we used to overthrow momar and this admin thought they could trust them in Libya. The same folks who were shooting at our troops in Afghan and Iraq are the guys we hired to do this and now nobody is asking what the hell Hillary and Obama were thinking doing this garbage. They should both be up on charges for treason.

He did nothing - that is what he did. He is an imcompetent "community organizer" from Chicago who has no business being anywhere near Washington in a position of power - let alone being the commander in chief.

If this fiasco doesn't convince people to vote for Mitt Romney so that we can get someone who knows what they are doing in the White House - then the republic may truly be doomed.

President Obama got elected by people who bought symbolism over substance - we are now reaping the bad fruits.

Well I'm not voting for Obama but your beloved GOP Congress refused to let a bill that come up for a vote that would have stopped this illegal Libya intervention to begin with.

So people like me sleep well at night, knowing that this careerist Government employee would be alive today because he would have never been over there in the first place.

So you can resume your partisan Obama bashing without ever acknowledging the fundamental crime that went on here, abetted by the GOP, with the full support of Romney.

I still don't think the FBI has even been on scene yet last I read and they are in charge of the "investigation". What was in that office that needed to be removed? This is a major coverup of some sort.

"CBS News has learned that congressional investigators have issued a subpoena to a former top security official at the US mission in Libya. The official is Lt. Col. Andy Wood, a Utah National Guard Army Green Beret who headed up a Special Forces "Site Security Team" in Libya.
Lt. Col. Andy Wood led a 16-member Special Forces site security team responsible for protecting U.S. personnel in Libya.
The subpoena compels Lt. Col. Wood to appear at a House Oversight Committee hearing next week that will examine security decisions leading up to the Sept. 11 Muslim extremist terror assault on the U.S. compound at Benghazi. U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three of his colleagues were killed in the attack.
Lt. Col. Wood has told CBS News and congressional investigators that his 16-member team and a six-member State Department elite force called a Mobile Security Deployment team left Libya in August, just one month before the Benghazi assault. Wood says that's despite the fact that US officials in Libya wanted security increased, not decreased.
Wood says he met daily with Stevens and that security was a constant challenge. There were 13 threats or attacks on western diplomats and officials in Libya in the six months leading up to the September 11 attack.
A senior State Department official told CBS News that half of the 13 incidents before September 11 were fairly minor or routine in nature, and that the Benghazi attack was so lethal and overwhelming, that a diplomatic post would not be able to repel it.
Wood, whose team arrived in February, says he and fellow security officials were very worried about the chaos on the ground. He says they tried to communicate the danger to State Department officials in Washington, D.C., but that the officials denied requests to enhance security."

Congress to probe security flaws for Libya diplomats | KTVQ.com | Q2 | Billings, Montana
I heard an interview on BBC radio, with the Libyan deputy ambassador to the UK, and he said that the Libyan Security Force, assigned to the consulate, was not trained nor armed properly to provide the level of security needed. He also said, that the attack on the consulate was way over the defense force's capabilities, and they just fled the scene because they were in way over their heads. The Libyan security forces have been a known problem for over a year, and one of their former members tossed grenades over the consulate fence a few months back.

The FBI has not been to Libya yet, as far as I know, and CNN was able to waltz in and make off with the ambassador's diary, four days after the 9/11 attack.
