I won't be held responsible for your inability to read or to use Google map. Suffice it to say the map clearly shows the abundance of Fortune 500 companies based in the tri-state area. That is a prima facia repudiation of your ill-informed comment.

I can't wait to read what other criteria you would like to advance since this meme is based purely upon the so-called Red/Blue divide.

Looking at the poll, it looks like the southern boys did not learn their lesson the first time. But then learning have never been their strong suit.

All this is is a fantasy thread where you fantasize that you can surround yourselves with fellow Fox News fans and birthers. Ain't going to happen. Plenty of liberals and gays and feminists and minorities in the red states, so you'd never get the ideological dreamland you want anyway.

I know! Why don't we seperate the nation into, I dunno, let's say 45-50 different territories, each with their own local governments? Then, we could allow those, let's call them "states", to largely govern themselves and pass laws that are relevant locally. Then we could have like, one larger government to oversee things like Inter-"state" trade, and foriegn relations. I dunno, I just hope that if we adopt something like this, we can somehow keep the overseeing government from overstepping it's bounds.

Thought that the united STATES of America were a union of tiny independent countries? Kind of like a very early version of the European Union. Far as I am concerned STATES should be more independent of federal control...Just like Europe had more character and vitality when the national families were not forced into the grey melting pot of socialism. Each state is it's own national family. Great walls make for great neighbors...no walls make for and open concept that functions like a commune...communes are for hippies.

Actually the first try was like the EU and was just as big a failure.

So what.....as long as we don't have a government "buying" their vote we can all get on with the job of forging a common culture instead of disparate and sometimes hostile groups all vying for a share of a shrinking federal pie.

You actually see this union as a success? Try looking around. Our economy is tanking. Our borders are completely porous. Our people are losing the work ethic and educational edge we need to compete with a resurgent china, a nation with a common culture, common language and functional borders.
