Petraeus has offered two reasons for wanting to avoid testifying: Acting CIA Director Morell is in possession of all the information Petraeus gathered in conducting his review and he has more current information gathered since Petraeus' departure; and it would be a media circus.

I haven't heard Petraeus ever say or indicate he did not want to testify. Of course, I tend to look for the facts, so those may not apply in this discussion.

The sex-scandal stuff has nothing directly to do with Obama, and is irrelevant fluff being used to divert attention from the real questions, which are:
* Four Americans were murdered at the Benghazi consulate on Sept. 11. Why did Obama keep saying the attack was due to a video when he knew almost immediately it wasn't?
* What was the reason terrorists planned and carried out the attack as they did?
* With what "well-placed officials" did Fox news confirm the rumor that the CIA had been illegally taking Libyans prisoner, and holding them in the Benghazi compound near the consulate?
* If prisoners were being held, was the President aware of it? If not, why not?

And that will be the last we ever hear about it since the mainstream media will not do anything against it...
Benghazi will go under and buried and it is a disgrace!

How does that work - if you don't ask for help, you don't offer help? It won't be too long before we're told that Benghazi never happened and there are way too many people who will believe it because they so badly need to believe it.

I have lost a lot of respect for McCain over the past 4 1/2 years. And I used to like him, might even have voted for him until he picked Palin for his running mate. Grandstanding is exactly what he's doing here with Benghazi.
