Default Will Petraeus and Broadwell be let off easy

This morning's news sources bring revelations that Broadwell has "significant amounts" of classified government documents at her NC home, taken from "secure" government buildings. (The video shows officials taking at least a dozen boxes of material out of her house.) The FBI also found classified material on her computer.

"Prosecutors are now determining whether to charge Broadwell with a crime" —

"Prosecutors will now have to determine how important the classified material is before making a final decision...."

Looks like they're going to to everything possible to bend the rules for her.

Meanwhile, the WP headline states that Petraeus is "unlikely to face court martial."

"In the Uniform Code of Military Justice, adultery is a violation only when it prejudices or harms the service, or brings discredit on the armed forces. Even then, numerous military law experts said Tuesday, it is rarely prosecuted as an isolated act without aggravating circumstances — such as involving a subordinate or a security breach — and is very unlikely to be imposed on retired Gen. David Petraeus."

I wonder how many in the military did not get that interpretation.

So unless it is proved that Petraeus is linked to Broadwell getting hold of all those classified documents, looks like he will be home free. He'll likely be allowed not to testify in Benghazi, citing all kinds of reasons.

But Allen, because he is still in "active duty" in the military, may face court martial. Sounds like the fall guy. Some are suggesting a reduction in rank (slap on the hand).

We will no doubt be served up hours of media drama all while Benghazi gets buried in the annals of history.

Because the documents he allegedly leaked were "important."

The ones Broadwell apparently stole will be found not to be (so important).

PB...father got her a lawyer a while ago, the father said...you are not going to believe whats going on....so
the only thing that can be trusted is hard facts, and words and finding things is not a hard fact. The more obvious something appears and is easily uncovered, the more you know its prob...bogus. Heads up 101

( ps...do the lefties want to start educating themselves with news...? its getting a bit tiresome.

I believe Broadwell will be indicted for making some kind of threats which came from her comp. and I believe that is not allowed.

I also believe that the images of her giving a speech a while back and making some kind of statement about Bengazi sounds like she had inside information which could affect both Patraeus and her to be indicted for that as well. (Clasified information) Perhaps Patraeur more than her since she go it from him and she is not held to the same standards as he is/was.

The financial issues of the Kelley's (2 foreclosures, etc.) will also be seen as an motive to get money for their story. I wonder how good of a Dr. he is that he has 2 recent foreclosures in his name and i looked it up yesterday since we have access to the public records which shows his watering issues with the County, a previous lien fro a paver company for an unpaid bill of $ 975.-.

It's a sign of Morality, or lack of. We would like to think that the people in power, have a moral compass. Without one, they do as they please, and we suffer the consequences. In this case, it could have been blackmail of the CIA Director... Not a good thought.

It's one thing of your local newspaper delivery person cheats on their spouse or significant other, but for people in a position of authority, it's a bigger issue.

As long as Petraeus didn't give her classified information then he should be let off based on what we've heard thus far. His affair may be in poor taste but it's not illegal. I'm strongly against people being penalized for having sex. The military's position and laws have no bearing on him since he resigned from the military.

If, however, he gave her any information or gave her the access she needed to get classified info, let the prosecutions begin.

Now her they should make an example of. She should be prosecuted for having classified information. If she wants a lighter sentence she needs to disclose where she got that information. If you're in a position to get classified material you're in the position to know what the consequences are of having it if you're caught.
