Nullification! Florida's Governor has already said he isn't going to implement Obamacare in Florida...I know several states have passed laws nullifying it...what the feds gonna do? Invade every state they don't agree with? I doubt it.
Newesflash: there was an Amendment on November 6 ballot to repeal Obamacare and it didn't pass.
Those darn democrats from South Florida stood 5 and 6 hours to vote I'm sure they won't have a problem boycotting these restaurants, since the next restaurant will be a minute away.
I work for a group that owns about 90 fast food restaurants across the country. Obamacare could bankrupt them. They have until April to reduce everyone to 30hrs or less.
I'd rather see the incompetent go bankrupt than my country.
I think this is a good idea. Now people will see exactly the cost of Obama Care in terms of jobs and to their bottom line. If the costs are EXPOSED... only then will people begin to see the inherent problems with the legislation
So, this guy has over 50 employees? Because if he doesn't, he doesn't need to pay for his workers' HC insurance.
And if he has less than 50 employees, and still chooses to provide HC insurance for his workers, he gets a tax break.
There is no business mandate in Obamacare, only the individual one.
AND, the 50 employee mandate existed before Obamacare.
Or do the actual facts about the new HC law not interest you?
The epidemic continues. This is a travesty affecting businesses everywhere across the nation. Now Denny's is being hit with Obamacare. People working there are now going to have to pay the price and have their hours cut. They are going to be put into a bind. Denny's is going to be put into a bind. This is terrible.
Florida based restaurant boss John Metz, who runs approximately 40 Denny's and owns the Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise has decided to offset that by adding a five percent surcharge to customers' bills and will reduce his employees' hours.
With Obamacare due to be fully implemented in January 2014, Metz has justified his move by claiming it is 'the only alternative. I've got to pass on the cost to the customer.'
The fast-food business owner is set to hold meetings at his restaurants in December where he will tell employees, 'that because of Obamacare, we are going to be cutting front-of-the-house employees to under 30 hours, effective immediately.'
If the restaurant service industry starts to put a surcharge on invoices, this will hurt the employees further - they won't be seeing a tip. Not to mention that it will probably discourage people from eating out more often, so then end up hurting themselves as well where profits are concerned.
Every business will raise their prices. At least the companies that come right out and say it's because of the Obamacare tax are being honest about it. More power to 'em.

Another newsflash...there is no business mandate in Obamacare. The 50+ employee rule exists outside of that HC law, and has been around long before Obamacare was even an idea.
Obamacare gives tax breaks to small businesses who provide healthcare for their employees.
The former employees will be working at the thriving resaurant across the street where business has doubled.
You forgot:
...and they all lived happily everafter.
That's how fairy tales are supposed to end.
