60% of this country has no problem with letting what was su pposed to be a temporary tax cut anyway expire in the wealthiest . Yet the GOP continues to try their old broken fiddle, which the voters SOUNDLY rejected this past election. The GOP is willing to harm the economy and millions of middle class Americans just so they can protect the interests of a few of their plutocratic friends and for small political gains. It should be considered an act of terrorism.
This entire "fiscal cliff" phony crisis is a GOP fabrication from the ground up. It'll be another nail in the coffin of the REpublican Party when they (for the 2nd time in 4 years) drive the nation into recession.
Go ahead, GOP. Assume the public isn't paying attention. Keep up your lame approach to American politics as being "gods, guns, and gays" and that none of us can see through your smokescreen.
There are very solid reasons that millions of former Republicans like me now strongly oppose your malicious intentions. Reasons you continue to dismiss at your peril.

Who started the "tax the rich" banter? Obama and people like you. You started it now they are returning the favor. Obviously you expected they would bend over.

How did the voters "soundly" reject this again?? The GOP still controls the House of Representatives and that is the voice of the people.
You do understand that if they do lose this political round there are many people who it will effect. These will return the favor. They don't need the government to do it. Either way, you lose.
Tax rates are lower than what they were under Republican demi god Reagan. The Bush tax cuts which are costing trillions of dollars were supposed to be temporary anyway. What's the hold up here.
Funny that Obama worshipers actually think a country can become prosperous on the backs of the rich.
People do realize that the rich will pay higher taxes which will make Obama supporters happy but they refuse to look at the unintended conscequenses.
They will finally get the message when they are getting poorer and struggling just to survive. The poor and minorities will be hit the worst, and to think, they VOTED FOR THIS!
All I'm going to do is laugh and tell them to suck it up!

The Bush tax cuts also benefit the middle class and costing trillions of dollars. So yea! what's the hold up. Since they cost let them expire.
