Go ahead, GOP. Assume the public isn't paying attention. Keep up your lame approach to American politics as being "gods, guns, and gays" and that none of us can see through your smokescreen.

There are very solid reasons that millions of former Republicans like me now strongly oppose your malicious intentions. Reasons you continue to dismiss at your peril.
The nation is dead anyway. We now have a majority of the electorate choosing to vote themselves benefits at the expense of the nation. Kennedy's challenge to "ask not............." is laughable at this time, as we have a large collection of dead beats who are very comfortable living off the backs of others and will never change their views. When one is paid to do nothing, one can expect more and more people to do exactly that- NOTHING.

Let's go "off the cliff". Keep in mind that we have Obama in the White House and democratic senate, who could actually come and negotiate an agreement. Obama embraced Simpson-Bowles initially- then rejected it when he saw the conclusions.

The gig is up. Let us fully embrace ALL of Obama's initiatives and allow him to destroy the nation, such that separate entities of like minded political ideology can form. "Liberal USA" can have all the of the dependents and welfare recipients, as they "support" this notion so much. We can have the corridor starting from Texas, west of the Mississippi to the Rockies (excluding CO, but including UT, ID, WY, and MT). It will be a win-win situation for libs and conservatives. You will get rid of a good deal of the "red necks" you despise so much (the South excluded), and we can have most of the ag, energy, water, and land based nukes. It is a great deal for all concerned.

Let's see - Democrats proposed a plan and Boehner calls it non-serious. Is there anything further?

He proposed essentially what was in his budget proposal.

Quote:
The House on Wednesday night unanimously rejected an alternative budget proposal based on President Obama's 2013 budget plan, dispatching it in a 0-414 rout.
0-414 vote: House clobbers budget proposal based on Obama's 2013 plan - The Hill's Floor Action

In a 99-0 vote, all of the senators present rejected the president’s blueprint.

That's called a laughingstock in most rational circles. But leave it to liberals to redefine laughingstock.

For the mathematically challenged that's zero votes from everyone in the government with that authority. And what did the president do? He proposed it again...

there is no fiscal cliff.

isn't it amazing that the congress and obama can still take their vacations, go traveling, and ignore the whole issue for months at a time?

DUH!

there is a sneaky little power grab effort by obama that seems to be overlooked by the liberals, however.

I think its basically unfair to think that one has to apy more than anther goig on the eqaulity demanded of Democratic social agenda. Bascially I think all americans should pay some taxes to suport the country no matter what they amke. Alos when wantig to spend then they should be wil to have skin in the game. Greece problem is based on exactly no skin and selling vote by who promised more free stuff;no way to run anything.

LOL! The Northeast blue corridor pays more in taxes than it receives, while the Southeast pays far less than it receives.

The outlines of this battle do suggest that "the rich" will bend, voluntarily or not. Best to prepare: I recommend deep breathing and plenty of lubrication. By which I mean strong drink, naturally.
