Yup! I bet they'd say he was doing it to make them feel dependent on assistance, to increase support for his welfare programs. Does that sound about right?

Right? Sheesh, this guy literally can't do anything right for the right.
Wait a minute, wasn't Lenin 54 when he died? Or was it 53? Marx was 64, Engels was 74. This might be a pattern of Obamaism.

Well at least 54 trees won't be going over the Fiscal Cliff. They were bought already. Being the rich have to pay more taxes than 54 trees seems about right for one house. After all, the house is the big house, it has 132 rooms so if one does the math that is 0.4 trees per room. That is not excessive. If the average American home has 6 rooms and 1 tree than that's only 0.1 tree per room. Some people are happy with no tree not even 1 per room....per home...per not-ta!

So if the white house has 54 or 540 trees, so what? Why should that bother anybody? If it does just ask yourself when was anything in Washington DC average? Everything in DC is larger than even Texas could imagine. Deficits, Budgets, offices, purchases, heck it even took 22 pens to sign the Health Care bill of 2010. Now that's a lot lot of pens, in fact that was 1 pen for every 109.5 pages of the bill itself, if one is keeping track of those sorts of things.

So with the facade of the fiscal cliff looming and the smoke and mirrors of our bustling economy I for one think they should of put up more trees that are proportional to what they spend in Washington............Hmmmm. Than again, maybe there are not enough trees for that kind of thinking. Please excuse my excessive thinking. Based on that 54 is a perfect number. It stands the test of illogical thinking and that is all we can hope for.

Merry Christmas and may Christ always be in Christ-mas.

Some traditions are just too stupid to be upheld, and this is one of them.
Were I live it's the forest service and they're idea of clear cutting........not Christmas tree farms.

Not enough people go to the woods to cut trees. A person defiantly would not see patches of nothing miles wide and long from Christmas tree hunters getting a tree once a year.

If it fulfills its purpose then its not going to waste. It seems like your problem is that you don't approve on the usage.

So when people get married and the bride and the bridesmaid and the flower girls all have live flowers do you get upset because they're being "wasted"?

What about jack-o-lanterns? Does it bother you when people carve pumpkins instead of eating them?

Must be a slow news day if you Cons are whining about too many Christmas trees, I figured you would be whining that our muslim communist president didn't have enough Christmas trees.

Some people really need to turn off Fox News, get out of the house, and enjoy life more.

If Obama broke with a long held White House tradition and had no trees the Repugs would say , "See! he has a War on Christmas!"...then they'd wipe the drool from their chinny chin chins(multiple) and whine jealously, " Obamas live in a HOUSE when there's so many homeless! The Obamas have MONEY! When some people don't! The Obamas have a JOB (when Romney doesn't )"...and other blather.....

It is offensive to me if anything living is killed for no other purpose than trophies, to be gawked at. I remember as a kid my mother would clean out the pumpkin while us kids carved them for Halloween. She would then bake the pumpkin seeds with a little salt and we would snack on them. She also made the best pumpkin pie with the rest of the pumpkin. I have also been an avid hunter since age 8, and the first rule my father taught me was "you shoot it, you eat it."

I have absolutely no problem with killing the flora and/or fauna, providing it is not wasted. If you want to gawk at something, make it something that is still alive. You do not have to kill it just to look at it.
