I don't know. I tend to write them off as typical C-D topics with no one offering anything substantive besides tired talking points about race and voting patterns.

We're an easy target it seems, and an object of fascination it appears.

Moreover, folks can say things on the net that they can't get away with saying in person. That's a big aspect of it. Stick around. You'll see a lot more of it.

Some people? I think America at large suffers from racial obsession. Still having growing pains from it. A low information media doesn't help, either.

Sadly, this is true.

It does seem to go in cycles, though - this week it's blacks, next week there could be a rush on anti-gay threads.

I think America could be more like football teams- White guys and Black guys playing together for the good of the team. They do not see color, they see their talents.

...and of course the litany of threads calling people racists....or all the anti-israel threads.

Basically, most of the threads are from the usual forum extremists playing politics from one side or the other.

Really, just look at some of the threads and it's the same handful of people starting them over and over and over....

I think it's just people that don't feel comfortable actually asking black people themselves about these issues in person, so they just take the easy way out and do it on an online forum.

I mean, there has to be a reason why in all of my 47 years, no one has ever said any of the more insulting stuff to me personally, and yet, it's all over the Internet. Of course, i don't blame them. I wouldn't say that stuff to me either. But still, it just reeks of cowardice in my book.
