Obviously first we need to know the specifics of why he failed the check. But what if laws were in place that required immediate law enforcement follow up on an individual who failed a background check to ensure they had no other access to weapons? Seems like something everyone would support.
Yes I understand...If people...or a person points his finger at another and goes bang..with the intent of killing them-no one is killed. If I put a gun in that hand - then I have assisted in the killing. In other words..people do kill people...so why help them by supplying them with a mechanical device that helps them kill with more efficiency?

Your approach would immediately transform that ratio to 0-9, with the criminals making a clean sweep, and that 9 would surely escalate as criminals could more safely engage in MORE crime.

Another option might be moving all the survivors to other schools in the district and start next year with a brand new kindergarten class only, and then adding new kindergartners each year... that way a survivor will never have to relive the trauma of going to school there again.
That could work, but what about the teachers and other adults who survived and will suffer from the after effects for the rest of their lives? They would still have to go back everyday.
