since 1960 until now:

Violent crime in America has increased by nearly 600%.
The current divorce rate is near 50%.
Illegitimate births increased by 400%.
Teenage suicide increased over 200%.
The national average score on the SAT has dropped by 80 points.
And last year, across America, over 25% of the graduating seniors could not even read the diplomas they received.
One of the most tragic and sinful statistics of all is that since Rowe vs. Wade in the 1970's, over 50 million unborn babies have been murdered in their mother's womb. Today over 1/3 of all pregnancies in America end in abortion. There is an abortion taking place every 20 seconds.

Secular Progressive=No God=Eventual Societal Implosion!!!

The violent crime rate today is the same as it was in the mid-1970s.

Since 1960, violent crime is up 300% -- not 600% like you stated. And as you can see, it has dropped precipitously since the peak year of 1991.

So I suppose this means that the U.S. was a hotbed of immorality from 1960-91 and has found God since then. Or something.

For argument sake lets say your statistics are correct...only 300%...isn't that just marvelous...

It's been going down for about 20 years. It was highest when America was electing Republicans (Reagan and Bush I).

And still no source for these 'facts'?

What an absurd thread op. Only shows that when feeling helpless, some people tend to flee to some supposedly better past.

It is OK to be interested in good education, but by calling on people to turn to gods, you kind of lose credibility in my view...

Which country can OP point to that's stayed as religious or gotten more religious since the 1960s and seen dramatic decreases in social ills or doesn't experience them?

Typical of the religious to lie and distort to push their agenda.

In fact I started a thread about it a few weeks ago: //www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ous-right.html
