hmmm....
The children of Newtown aren't high profile children ... like a previous poster stated.

If you don't understand what this means ... then I can't help you.

it seems like the mainstream republican puppets want 11 government emplyees to look after ever 2 kids in the nation. We better ramp up immigration and taxes so we can satisfy their desires. We need the immigrants because I don't think we have enough adults in the nation and we need the taxes because this is going to consume every penny we have.

The Presidents daughters are no more important than any other girls in the country.

Gosh, you don't think it might be because they are the President's children and therefore a target? Especially for far-right loonies?

Of course they aren't--a human being is a human being. However, even I don't believe that my own daughter is just as likely to be kidnapped or harmed as an unguarded child of a president or high-ranking political figure.

It's generally a destination for these people because the school is used to having high profile kids there.

So your false outrage is disingenuous. You may as well be outraged that a steak knife is sharp.

So what you're both saying is that, as per usual, the Washington, D.C. elite deserve to have special privileges that are not only unavailable to the rest of us, but illegal for the rest of us as well. Do you not see the hypocrisy of our government passing laws that prohibit firearms at schools and then sending their children to a school that employs armed guards?

Quite frankly, I don't care how high profile their children are. The fact that they are surrounded by armed guards while schools across the nation are vulnerable to attack by nutjobs is outrageous. In a similar vein, who wants to bet that there will be special exemption for these security personnel if an "assault weapons" ban gets passed?

Sidwell is attended by the sons and daughters of politicians from both sides of the aisle as well as other high profile people. Because of their parents status, they are considered targets for kidnap and extortion. President Obama's daughters in addition have Secret Service protection 24/7, just as the children of George W. Bush did.

It's Christmas. Why don't you try to make nice for one day instead of using Breitbart, a non-news blog, to stir up a non-story?

It's not about whether they are important ... it's about whether they would be likely targets for kidnapping or worse.

The children of Newtown are essentially unknowns to the rest of the world.
