Out of curiosity, how many of the elites' children have been the victim of a criminal act in the last 20 years? Once you get that answer, compare it to how many "regular" children have been the victims of criminal acts over the last 20 years. That way, maybe you'll start understanding what I mean when I call this hypocrisy. The elites know that children are the favorite target of criminals, so they protect their children. Meanwhile, they make it illegal for our children to enjoy those same protections.
If children of rich people are paying for extra protection, then it is less likely that they will be victims as a result of this extra protection. The extra protection is working exactly as intended.
Children in public schools aren't receiving the same protection as private schools, because parents aren't willing to pay the extra taxes required to provide for additional security in public schools.
If a parent wants better protection for their children, then they should pay for it, and send them to private schools, just like Obama is doing now.
If Obama's kids went to fracking good old PS 19 in the Bronx they would have their own private security detail. Just like the Bush twins, Chelsea Clinton, Carter's four kids, Gerald Ford's and Nixon's two daughters.
These parents are paying for the extra protection Sidwell provides.
If you want more protection for your kids ... then you need to pay for them to go to a private school, just like Obama is doing now.

If folks want to read about the hypocrisy of federal security, pick up a copy of “In the President’s Secret Service: Behind the Scenes with Agents in the Line of Fire and the Presidents They Protect,” and read about how Jenna Bush would call daddy and tell him to have her detail to back off, or try to elude them while at the same time creating the department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act for the rest of us.
In fact, the agent said, Jenna called her father many times when she wanted the agents to back off. “The president would call the special agent in charge,” the agent says. “The SAIC [special agent in charge] would call the detail leader, the detail leader would call the guys and say, ‘Hey, you’ve got to back off.’”

Sorry, wrong again. I've always been happy about my tax dollars going to all aspect of public education. On the rare occasion that I play the Lottery I always joke that I just paying a few dollars of extra school tax.

And secret service protection is ALWAYS given to the children of presidents.
