We have about 424 billionaires in this country and the average $4 billion. Take $3 billion from them and have enough to run the government for about 9 or 10 months. Bill Gates has about $66 billion so I guess his fair share would be $65 billion, at least for the first year. What happens after we take it all away from them? I guess leaners may find out how little they would have to pay the next year.

Bill Gates' fair share would be $65 billion. I wonder if that is what Obama has been talking about the last 4 years. Remember, I have asked leaners over and over how much fair share is and now we learn that it is everything above $1 billion.
Wouldn't it be better if everyone was a billionaire, than if they were living in poverty? Instead of outlawing billionaires, shouldn't we outlaw poverty?

You could only do it one time and not really accomplish much other than destroy property rights. I think the bigger problem is the free riders as Obama calls them. It is time to tax them. If a free rider makes below 15k a year and receive any welfare the free rider should be taxed. A small tax to start with, but it should go up each year until the free riders "get it" and move up the economic ladder.

A soft kick in the rear does a world of good.

We just don't like a society that advocates theft.

There is no reason why the insanely rich can't keep what they EARNED. You don't have to be one of them to realize it is wrong to take what they have just because you want to.

Also, this is a slippery slope. If it's ok for me to steal from a billionaire, just because "I" deem him to have too much, is it ok for someone who has less than me to steal from me because they deem me to have too much?

I agree. The problem isn't that the rich don't pay enough, it's that the bottom half don't pay enough. Too many of them pay nothing and many of them get money back they never paid in. THIS is where our problem is.

Default Do not outlaw billionairs

We should not outlaw billionaires but we should put them in a 90% tax bracket with all their income from all sources counted. They should also be paying a real and financial property tax on all wealth over the 90th percentile. We should not outlaw billionaires but we should make it almost impossible to ever amass that much wealth.

That is actually a false belief, very few people in this country make it to being a millionaire and even fewer make it to billionaire status. It is true that if you work hard and apply yourself and learn a needed trade that you can make it to middle class status, which that is what makes this country great is our large middle class population, which I am more than willing to tax the rich to protect the middle class.
