Oh, and screwdrivers as well. Famous case in NJ where a hubby saw his wife as the devil in the form of a fish and asked his son to get him a screwdriver. Stabbed her to death with a screwdriver!!!! Where is the call to ban screwdrivers!!?? Those evil tools which are used to assemble guns!
Bet the number of murders committed with a screwdriver far outnumber the mass killing of children in the USA.
Watch Disney's 'Fantasia'. See all those mops and brooms and buckets come to life and wreak havoc????? You do know innatimate objects can't really come to life...right?
Well, what would you say then? If you have numbers, (which some on here have a hard time understanding) and the first number is 6000+ and the next number is 350ish.....
Which one do you think has the higher kill rate?
It's not that hard....
The statistics do not support the conclusion you are trying to draw.
Nothing in these FBI statistics addresses the "kill rate" in the way you are claiming. The only thing the statistics tell us is the absolute number of homicides with each implement, and it is undoubtedly correct that handguns are used in many times more the number of homicides than rifles.
In order for your claim to be correct we would need to know the likelihood that an assault with the intent to kill will succeed with each implement. If it were the case that people tried to use rifles and handguns to commit murder the same number of times, and they were successful with handguns more than 6000 times and with rifles only 350 times then you would be correct.
The statistics provided in the FBI study we have been discussing say nothing about how likely death is the result when an attempt is made using each method or implement.

Of course, you already knew that.
So, you really think that "people are missing" with rifles, that many times?
and what about the household stairs, every year people die on stairs....i think we should have a new law,,,,no more stairs
and cars?? we can cut the head injuries and maybe even deaths, in half, if every driver was required to where a helmet while driving..
i think we need a new law fow that
