Note: I am not putting this in the automotive forum because it's not about trucks themselves; rather, it's about the social constructs of real men driving trucks.
You tell me... I've got a truck, and I also have a penis and two testicles (all OEM). I think that counts as real, right?

Insofar as they tend to be more aligned around traditional gender stereotypes, I would submit the hypothesis that conservatives tend to be more concerned with macho images of "real men", etc.
Also a valid question. That being said, I don't think there are the emotionally charged arguments for or against trucks like there are guns. You couldn't prevent a mass shooting from men driving trucks, nor could you stop mass shootings by regulating trucks more stringently.

So you're saying that conservatives would agree that "real men drive trucks" and liberal men would disagree? Possibly, although I'm not sure how strong the correlation is.

Yet another valid question. However, chewing snuff is bad for you and leads to throat cancer so I'm not sure it's the same argument.
