That's the entire platform of the Republican Party. Every day, that's what Republicans are talking about.

As far as freedom and conservatism, these days, most conservatives confuse freedom and power. Conservatives don't believe they are free unless they can oppress and ruin the lives of people who don't meet their standard of "real American" and "good Christian."

For anybody who sees this post (one person here already mentioned it) this discussion is originally from 2013 so this incident wasn't too recent even though it might seem that way (with the people who have commented yesterday and today).

{shrug} if folks expect reparations for things that happened 150>400 years ago, then commenting on an 8 year old thread seems okay to me

I never said I had a problem with commenting on older, less recent posts (because I don't and never did). I'm just pointing out the fact that this case happened in 2013.
