they have to be 18 to buy, not own. I buy, and they own it.
even it such is true, you can say i own the firearms, but the firearms are theirs when they leave the home at 18. both girls also open carry when they ride horses on my property.

If I was fearful, I would probably own a gun.

If I lived in a remote rural area, I might rethink my own position on gun ownership. Since I don't, I won't.

If I lived in a remote rural area I too might own a gun. But I would have no problem registering it, being in a national database, and having any subsequent sales of that gun registered and traced. None of those measures take away my right to own a gun.

You've never shot anything have you? In reality under 12's are very teachable for shooting technique when using a .22 with a bench rest. They also do what they're told.

I don't think anyone has said "without supervision" as you try to imply. Motor skills? Ever watch a 7 year old put clothes on a Barbie?

As a note I'm a Hunter Safety/Firearms Instructor.

He just gave you an example of confiscation. And then you announce there has been no confiscation?

OK, are you stupid, or merely illiterate? Looks like it has to be one of the two.

surely you have more recent examples of outright confiscation other than the Japanese during WW2.

But you ignored the earlier example, so why should I bother pointing out more?

or they could just go to a gun show as indicated below

More what? Laws that are already proven to not work?

Why?

I would like to see a flat out ban on semi automatic rifles such as the one used in the CT shooting. I see no need for anyone to own them. If that infringes on your rights and hurts your feelings then I'm sorry.
So, you are willing to set up, train, equip, and dispatch the tens of thousands of SWAT teams to break down the doors of the gun owners who refuse to comply with your ban, and ransack the millions of American homes to make sure they've got them all regardless of their formerly law-abiding owners' desires or their rights?

BTW, how many of these formerly law-abiding Americans are you willing to kill, to see that your hysterical rants are carried out? How many innocent deaths do you consider to be worthwhile to implement your grand crusade?

Yes, you are just the kind of guy who should be making laws for a free country.
