That's great and all but millions of armed citizens can easily over take a government. The only thing that can stop an armed rebellion against a corrupt government is nuclear weapons.
And if the government is confirmed to be using chemical weapons then that would give NATO/UN the right to intervene because chemical weapon use, even in war, breaks geneva convention rules. And as far as water goes there's plenty of sources of water that's not on tap.

Tom Brokaw, as do most *******s, misses the point entirely.
It is about deterrence, not comflict. Deterring tyranny is, hopefully, enough to prevent the need to reassert, by force of arms, Liberty, with, of course, the help of many if not most of the Armed Forces who would fight on the side of freedom, not tyranny.

You can't win the argument against the right to bear fire arms. It's engraved into the constitution and clearly states that right was given to us for self defense including defense against the government. Period.
If you want to re-write the second amendment, then Republicans should be given the right to re-write birth right citizenship laws that states children born on US soil become citizens ONLY if the mother and father are also citizens.
