Not that many miles away in Lincoln Park.....they have the same gun laws etc etc. but they have a murder rate about as low as lowest countries on the planet.
The girl was 15, even if open carry was allowed, she wouldn't be eligible, unless you want to change that also.
That's a (deliberately?) obtuse way to look at it. We're talking about a whole milieu that has been created in Chicago over decades by many factors, one of which is strict gun control. Not so much the specifics of this incident. No one is saying that the 15-yr-old girl should have had a gun to defend herself. Other factors are drug laws, culture of corruption, poor public education, bad criminal justice system, etc. Chicago politcos always choose door #1 (gun control) so that they won't have to address all those other doors. After all they thrive on the corruption, drug war, pub sector union abuses, etc.

WHY is the question we should be discussing.
If this happened in an affluent area, heads would be rolling. The reality is, most people don't care about violence in these areas, that includes most people who post stories about them on the internet.
If you have an automobile that is continually causing accidents or death, you're going to take a look at that make & model & possibly recall it, are you not? Same simple logic applies.
Great, when are we going to recall the black teen since they account for the majority of gun deaths in this country, especially in Chicago?
Feel free to admit it. There are a few liberals on this forum that will be glad to coddle your hurt feelings.
I get that some people will try to link Obama to everything negative, doesn't really hurt my feelings, just pointing out the obvious.
