The US has reached a demographic tipping point, with most babies born now belonging to minority groups.
According to the US Census bureau, black, Hispanic, Asian and mixed-race births made up 50.4% of new arrivals in the year ending in July 2011.
The official notice foreshadows the day, expected in the 2040s, when non-Hispanic whites - like the group that founded America - will be in the minority.BBC News - What will a white-minority US look like?
So could it mean the Spanish speaking minority would assimilate and would much more commonly use English rather than Spanish? In addition would there soon be a Hispanic president?
Plus would the culture of the US be similiar today as in 50 years time?
Not much different. We'll still be a huge global force economy, still have a relatively highly educated population although we must improve some, and the shift, just like prior shifts, will occur gradually over the next few decades, a tiny bit per day, as our older population dies off, and our newborns replace them.
Why do Americans -both Lib and cons- insist on grouping all nonwhites as a group? As if they all work together to oppose whites. They're all different and none will be a majority anytime soon, and as each group grows so do the problems associated with multiculturalism. And the very underprivileged will continue to be so. From what the OP states, white babies are still the majority, just not the majority compared to all other races collectively. Then there's the fact that maybe some of those labelled 'mixed race' may actually be mostly white, depending on the mixture, like a mestizo/white or asian/white both of which can appear mostly white.
The big worry here is overpopulation and dwindling resources. I'm thinking of Native americans here, with their constant struggles and fight to preserve what little they have. How soon before they're affected and a new set of people exploit them (again)? And what about the very poor Africans, who really have little to look forward to in this present economic situation?
The same group that is fast outnumbering whites has already quickly surpassed black Americans, and their birth rates are incredible. Not only is their birth rate very high, they start having babies at a much younger age than do Americans.

The Liberals have tossed aside everything regarding the environment. Their goal now is very massive and unlimited immigration. Forget the national forests and wetlands, forget the spotted owl. The open borders agenda is only about bringing in many millions of people and having what's left of the taxpayers pay for the high birth rates.
My opinion is that the supposedly "white minority" America will look exactly like an America where light-skinned Hispanic people, and possibly Chinese and Japanese Americans, will be considered "white", rather than "Hispanic" or "Asian". Kind of like how Irish and Italian Americans became "white" when it served to help oppress black and Native Americans.
