Doesn't matter if it does or not. Roe v. Wade trumps state law.

Iowa is a surprisingly progressive state, so don't count on this happening.

What if birth control fails?

Read the link. They are doing exactly what a Justice told them to do. Establish when a baby is an actual human. Get fixed as in for good if you don't want kids. If you don't want it then give it up for adoption. What happened to personal responsibility? Oh and for those that I am sure will flood the thread about why don't I adopt a child. I have 3 of my own but would more than willingly adopt children if I could.

You know they do home visits now before they place a child?

And how would this law be enforced? You hate law enforcement, remember?

Yep. Just 1 reason I refuse to adopt. I hate dealing with the state in its capacity that it is in. The state sticks its nose where it doesn't belong just like the feds do.

Doesn't matter. That part is not, in itself, legally binding. Similar attempts have been declared unconstitutional at the state supreme court levels and the SCOTUS recently refused to hear the case from Oklahoma.

Why should someone go through 9 months of hell not to mention the dangers and physiological changes to the woman's body that come with pregnancy when they don't want the pregnancy?

Having an abortion is exercising personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility is paying for your own actions.

Having an abortion is just letting lazy irresponsible people off easy.Don't have sex if you don't want to take a risk of having a child.

Kinda, sorta...though an abortion is a perfect fit by that definition.

That's quite the generalization, don't you think?

For reference, I am friends with a couple who has been married several years. They don't wish to have a child yet, and she is on birth control. It failed once though, and so they had an abortion. I fail to see which part of their actions qualify as either lazy or irresponsible.

Why? It goes against human psychology and instincts and methods up to and including abortion are available to mitigate the risk.
