Seeing as if you're born a citizen, you are a natural-born citizen. There is no need to call anyone a natural born citizen, since its obvious that by being born a citizen, you are a natural born citizen. This concept was familiar to our found fathers, since they were schooled in English Common Law, and the basis of over 500 years of Anglo Saxon law concerning citizens and subjects.
There are only two types of citizens in this country: Natural born (born on US Soil or born to US Citizens parents broad) and Naturalized (those who become citizens through Naturalization).
Were the framers drunk? I don't think so. There are no redundancies in the U.S. Constitution.
Would the same apply to Barack Obama if he had been born in Kenya?
No. In 1961, the law regarding parental time in country was more restrictive, and Obama's mother missed the cut.
But since Obama was born in Hawaii, it doesn't matter.

Not really. Under both the earlier and later version's of the law, Cruz's mother meets the residency criterion.

It doesn't matter when they were born. The change in law would apply to both of them. You haven't given any evidence that there was a change in law anyway
What's the difference between Obama's mother who was an American citizen, and Cruz's mother who was an American citizen?
The law when Obama was born required that the citizen parent "was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than ten years, at least five of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years."
In 1986 this was changed to a requirement that the citizen parent "was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years."

Obama's mother was only 18 years old when her son was born, meaning that she did not meet the five years "after attaining the age of fourteen years" requirement.
While I do not know the birth date for Cruz's mother, I do know that she graduated from Rice University in 1956, meaning she must have been in her mid 30s when her son was born.
trump's involvement in birtherism has been absolutely comical. because of his birther antics he is currently involved in a lawsuit against bill maher were he, donald trump (or his attorney), will have to prove to a jury that a "reasonable person" could believe that he is potentially the spawn of an orangutan.
i'm torn between believing that trump is using birtherism intentionally to promote himself and "the apprentice" ( in which case i think it's detrimental to the long term viability of the brand name as a "high-end" product ) or if trump is really just that stupid and sheltered from reality.
here's trump's track record when it comes to birtherism:
he claimed a COLB is not legal proof of birth.
false. not only is it but trump himself recently displayed his COLB to prove his birth!
.....still waiting on any evidence these guys actually existed.
will be interesting to see if trump can also f**k-up cruz's eligibility.
