Of course I have a feeling most of the strikers wouldn't exactly be in favor of such a solution.
And where do those half a million people go living in public housing? There's not exactly available housing elsewhere in the city or nearby. Upstate NY? The south?

And no, the crime rate would not collapse.

And we need a federal mandatory vacation pay law. Every other western democracy has one. Every full-time worker, no matter what job, should be guaranteed with 3 weeks paid vacation.

We need to treat all work as honorable in this country and stop with this "you're a fast food worker lol" nonsense.
3 weeks paid vacation? Lol.

Where does the government get the power to force a business owner to pay his employees for taking a vacation?

Well if the government "took over" business then "the people" would get what they want..right ?
Sounds like people are warming up to communism.

Both Canada and the UK have mandated minimum vacation time (3-4 weeks). As for as I can tell, the residents aren't living under communism.

The way the GOP is going, I assure you we will march towards that soon.

I don't think conservatives realize the damage they are doing by trying to destroy all the unions.

Why do you say that ? The Dems own the Senate and Oval Office.
Bills passed in the House will just get thrown in a pile and ignored by the Senate..unless it's a security bill.

This is simply another manifestation of the free sh*t society where everyone is entitled to something they have not earned.
We have devolved from free citizens, to lowly peasants with our hands out begging for charity.

I support their efforts to raise their wage above market wage, though $15/hour is a bit excessive, why not. Asking high is a good negotiating strategy.
The first rule in negotiating is having something to negotiate over. They have no bargaining power if other people are willing to work for the same wages.

People are free to relocate to those countries then if they want more vacation time. Better yet, they can move to france where the working hours are considerably lower, more vacation time, and a socialist president who openly despises business as a whole.

If they wish to remain here, the onus is on them to make themselves more marketable to companies that offer more vacation time.

The idea of a fast food worker making $15 an hour and getting 3 weeks paid vacation is laughable at best, and simply void of any concept of reality.

At some point it is so absurd that we may as well just pay them NOT to work...............
