Because when you buy a gun from a dealer at a gun show you currently have to go through a backround check, and if you purchase a gun online it has to be sent to your local ffl and you have to go through a background check before taking the gun home.

Online sales and gun show sales already require a background check. This legislation excluded private sales which is the only area where we don't currently have background checks. Talking points are fun though- right??
