Separate yourself from the stereotype and in due time, most people will see a difference and leave non-racist Confederate descendants/southerners alone.

I just think you are wrong in this assumption. People hate the flag for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's a hatred of the confederacy. Sometimes it's a hatred of white southerners. Sometimes it's a hatred of racism, as an idea. Sometimes it's just hatred, because everyone else seems to hate it.

But back to the topic, we all know that Cheney is no JFK or Clinton when it comes to race relations, especially with blacks.

"We all know.." Do we all know that? Is that a fact? I have no reason to think that Cheney has done anything to blacks. Do you have information I don't?

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if his possession of the Confederate flag symbolized his desire of the good ol' days.

So now he possesses the flag? What's next, he burns crosses? Abuses children? Let's make some more stuff up..

While many people are raising cain about the Confederate flags, why not vent some of that on the Mexican and Canadian flags we see all the time, especially the Mexican since so many of them are here illegally! I'll fly my Confederate flag with pride and joy all my life!!! Just a little info. Florida's state flag is a symbol of the Confederate Navy Jack flag!

Joe91 - that's pretty harsh, isn't it? So if no ancestors fought under the flag you can't fly it...what about the American flag then? Or, what if your ancestors fought and killed some rebels...but you sympathize with the South?

Al Sharpton is sensationalized by the media, I blame them for running with this garbage...it's no different to me than if they were sensationalizing David Duke rhetoric.
